Filter Fabs Geotextiles can fulfill a wide variety of civil engineering needs. Rutting occurs as a result of regular passage of transport over the structure. The resultant deformation develops inplane tensile stresses and related membrane and restrain mechanisms. Our products help prevent rutting in the final construction. The high initial modulus of Filter Fabs reduces the deformation and helps prevent rutting.
Separation is the main benefit in stabilization work with geotextiles. It has the ability to prevent the intermixing of two materials. With Filter Fabs geotextile in place, aggregate base materials under load are not forced into the subgrade. Subgrade soils cannot mix with the clean aggregate layer. Without geotextiles the aggregate and weak subgrade soil would mix. Load bearing capacity would be reduced and rutting accelerated. Filter Fabs Non Woven - Rail Tracks
FilterFabs Geotextiles can be installed directly on the subgrade eliminating contamination from below the ballast. This allows the subgrade to reinforce the rail tracks and drain water quickly thereby keeping the ballast dry and functional.
Our Geotextiles helps prevent the fine soils from pumping upwards during train action. It has the necessary tensile strength and elongation properties to spread rail track loads over a large area by reducing the unit pressure on the soil and thus increasing the load bearing capacity of the rail track.
Filter Fabs Non Woven - Erosion Control
Filter Fabs Geotextile is installed between rip-rap and armour rock to prevent erosion under soils. As a separator between rip-rap and armour rock it acts as a filter to allow water to move in either direction depending on water elevation.
Our material economically replaces granular filter materials which are costly and ofter difficult to replace. Proven applications include protection of water banks slopes & shorelines.

Filter Fabs Non Woven - Paved & Unpaved Surfaces
Heavy construction equipments equipments is used in access roads for forestry mining operations, construction sites and industrial work areas. Filter Fabs geotextiles can be effectively used in making the unpaved surfaces permanent by placing the material directly over the native soil. This helps to bind the surface preventing it form sinking. The fabric allows water to drain resulting in a surface preventing it from sinking. The strength of the paved surface is largely dependent on the quality and stability of the subgrade especially in high traffic areas like roads & fly-overs, highways, parking lots, airport runways & industrial flooring.
Our geotextiles strengthen the paved surfaces by creating a separation barrier between subsoil and base thereby permitting water to drain easily. This prevents subsoil from mixing into the base thus retaining the structural integrity of the surface enabling it to carry heavier loads.

Filter Fabs Non Woven - Retained Soil Wall
Access in steep mountainous terrains is often provided by roads cut into the side of a hill. Traditional methods call for constructing a retained soil wall using earth fill with timber or pile reinforcing.
Filter Fabs geotextiles economically replace this expensive and time consuming method of construction by placing alternate layers of non woven material and earth fill. The edge of each fabric layer is folded back around a soil bern and lapped to next layer to form a wall face. Not only is this an easy installation process, it also provides for excellent drainage on the wall.
Our geotextiles can be used as an underliner for tailing ponds liquid waste holding ponds and water reservoirs. Lining a storage pond with a permeable membrane is the most efficient means of safeguarding against leakage.
Our fabrics are also installed in storage ponds along with impermeable geomembrane to protect the thin membrane layer from being punctured by sharp rocks and vent gases.
Lining of Sump Pipe Line
Quite ofter drainage pipes in pumps and ponds choke from sediment collected from rain water. Covering these perforated drainage pipes with our geotextile helps to prevent pipe clogging by acting as a filter for sediments.
